Casino operates in a variety of formats, and at the end of 2005 it owned a total of 9,265 stores*, including 344 hyper-markets, 2,396 supermarkets, 1,130 discount stores, 5,038 convenience stores, and 247 restaurants. Casino employs 242,055 persons throughout the world.
Casino is active in 15 countries (France, the Netherlands, Poland, the United States, Mexico, Argentina, Uruguay, Venezuela, Brazil, Colombia, Thailand, Taiwan, Mauritius, Vietnam and Madagascar).
In 2005, the Casino Group’s net sales came to 22.8 billion euros (of which 75% in France and 25% outside of France).
